This Giving Tuesday help children who need life-saving care

Improving the Mental Health of Kids and Teens

Indiana kids and teens are in crisis. Rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions are at an all-time high.

They need our help.

A Generation in Crisis

1 in 5 kids live with a mental health disorder in the U.S.

Death by suicide is the #2 cause of death among Hoosier teens.

82 Indiana counties have a mental health care shortage and Indiana is in the bottom 20 percent of states in availability of child psychiatrists.

As many as 500 families call Riley each week seeking outpatient mental health care for a child. During that same time, the outpatient team may only have capacity to take on a handful of new patients.

Your gift supporting behavioral health means more kids get the help they desperately need.

Help When and Where Kids Need It

We are committed to ensuring our kids and teens have access to mental health resources when and where they need it by:

  • Growing the number of mental health professionals at Riley Children’s Health

  • Using innovative technology to improve access to care in rural and underserved communities

  • Offering access to mental health resources in a trusted and familiar setting, like a pediatrician’s office.

  • Providing immediately available support for kids in mental health crisis
