INDIANAPOLIS (August 21, 2019) — Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members in Indiana raised $701,340 for Riley Hospital for Children during their annual Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals fundraising campaign.

Donations were made June 10 to July 7, as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates at 155 Indiana locations held various in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members to donate at the register. Stores’ fundraisers included everything from grilling out to hosting competitions between employees and managers.

"The CMN Hospitals campaign is important to my family because my own 11-year-old son Evan is a Riley kid,” said Misty O’Toole, Assistant Store Manager in Bedford, Ind. “We know that without the donations of all the generous people in our local communities Riley couldn't provide the level of care they do to kids each year."

Donations to Riley Hospital for Children are used to support Pediatric Research and Patient Care, Maternity and Newborn Health and Family Support Programs. Because of the ongoing support of partners like Walmart and Sam’s Club, Riley is able to provide family-centered care through more than 323,000 patient visits each year.

“We are grateful for the continuous support and generosity of Walmart and Sam’s Club. They are committed to supporting the vital role Riley Hospital for Children plays in caring for children from all 92 Indiana counties,” said Meghan Miller, Chief Operating Officer for Riley Children’s Foundation.

Walmart and Sam's Club funds impact each of the 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which treat one in 10 children across North America.
