Meet Addyson and Leo,
our 2025 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Indiana Champions

Addyson and Leo, 2025 Children's Miracle Network Indiana Champions

Each year, 170 Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals across North America identify a “Champion” in their community to serve as the face for children treated at their local hospital. Riley Children’s Health is the only CMN hospital in Indiana.

Unstoppable is the perfect word to describe Addyson and Leo Wooldridge. Addyson has been cheerleading since she was 4 years old, and Leo has a passion for playing baseball. They attend Riley Dance Marathons throughout the state and have raised enough funds to name two red wagons in the Riley fleet.

Their journey here has not been an easy one. Addyson was born in 2010 with spina bifida, which contributed to other serious complications. She has undergone seven surgeries and is treated by a team of specialists at Riley Children’s Health. In the summer of 2022, Leo was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. Thanks to relentless support from the Riley Children’s oncology team, he is now close to remission.

Funds from CMN Hospitals partners enhance and sustain critical family support services at Riley such as Child Life, which help kids like Addyson and Leo be kids first and patients second. Certified Child Life Specialists use therapeutic interventions to provide comfort, coping skills, and creative outlets for children during medical procedures and hospitalization.

We checked in with Addyson and Leo to find out what representing Riley means to them.

What does it mean to you to represent Riley?

Addyson: I get to inspire people to give money to help other kids in the hospital.

Leo: Representing Riley means a lot to me. It means people can look up to me and have a good role model to look after.

What would your perfect day look like?

Addyson: Going to cheer and hanging out with my dog.

Leo: Going to a baseball, basketball, or football game and then hanging out next to a fire.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Leo: I’m still on the fence but I want to be something that helps someone.

If you could send a message to donors who support Riley, what would you say?

Addyson: Thank you for giving money to help improve Riley Hospital.

Leo: Thank you for donating and helping kids fight another day.
