Meet Sydney Parrish, the Riley Children's Foundation Hoosiers for Good Athlete

Through participation in Hoosiers for Good, Riley Children’s Foundation is excited to be paired with standout Indiana University Women’s Basketball player, Sydney Parrish.

After playing two seasons at University of Oregon, Sydney, a Fishers native, decided to return home to play for the Hoosiers. She was subsequently selected as one of 11 IU basketball players for the latest class of Hoosiers for Good athletes.

Launched in March of 2022, Hoosiers for Good is a nonprofit designed to raise awareness for Indiana charitable causes by pairing them with community-minded IU student athletes seeking to use their platform and influence to drive positive social change.

The organization will raise funds to support Indiana charities by engaging IU student athletes wishing to use their names, image, and likenesses (NIL) to amplify the philanthropic work that helps Indiana communities thrive.

"Hoosiers For Good has a tremendous opportunity to make a life-long impact on Indiana children," said Liz Elkas, president of Riley Children's Foundation. "Beyond generating awareness of our organization, every interaction between an IU student athlete and a Riley kid has the potential to lift spirits, inspire hope, and be a source of encouragement."

“I'm excited to be back home in Indiana this year to represent IU Women's Basketball and to support Riley Children's Foundation as a Hoosiers for Good athlete,” said Sydney. “I know that Riley provides amazing care for kids and families in Indiana and I'm so glad I can help raise awareness for this work.”

Sydney, a 2020 graduate from Hamilton Southeastern, has seen her share of success on the court including:

• HSE’s all-time leading scorer

• Hamilton county’s all-time leading scorer

• A 3x All-State selection

• A 2019 4-A State Champion

• 2019 Indiana Player of the Year

• 2020 Indiana Miss Basketball

• 2020 McDonald’s All-American

Riley Children’s Foundation is excited to work with Sydney in the coming months and is looking forward to seeing that level of skill at work for our Riley kids and families.
